Idaho town dedicates birthplace of Olive Osmond

The Associated Press • Published July 20, 2008

Residents of the tiny town of Samaria on Saturday dedicated the reconstructed cabin where Olive Osmond was born in 1925. She died in 2004.

The third oldest of Olive's children, 59-year-old Alan Osmond, took part in the dedication and served as grand marshal for a parade that was part of the dedication ceremony.

Alan Osmond thanked area residents and says it's an honor for the family to be a part of the community's history.

The cabin was built in 1869 and officials say it is the oldest standing structure in Samaria.
