"Tears of a King: The Latter Days of Elvis" Premiere!

The premiere was held last night at the Scera Theater in Orem, Utah, with members of the cast and crew in attendance. The house was packed and the movie well-received with loud applause.

Alan Osmond talked about some of his experiences with Elvis, and he told the story of how he received a copy of the Book of Mormon which Elvis had read and marked. This book is now in the LDS church archives and pages from it were used in the movie.

Michael Osmond also attended the event. He was credited for sharing the Osmond family’s connection to the story with producer Matthew Reese, and putting Reese in contact with Alan.

Matt Lewis, who plays Elvis in the film, gave a concert after the premiere. Soundtrack CDs were available to purchase after the event.

In a special nod to Alan and the Osmond family, listen for a clip from The Plan (Traffic in My Mind) when Elvis is struggling with the effects of fame on his life.

Merrill Osmond to Perform in Utah Theater

Merrill announced that he has accepted the role of Lochran in the Hale Centre Theatre Production of "The Civil War."

Osmonds: Second Generation at Thanksgiving Point

The Osmonds: Second Generation will be performing at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah, on Friday and Saturday, November 23-24th. This morning they sang on the KUTV early morning news shows. Scott even did the weather reporting!

Donny and Marie to Return to Las Vegas!

Donny announced on Entertainment Tonight that he and Marie will reunite for an incredible stage show at the MGM Grand July 17-23. According to the ET-online website, Donny told Mary Hart,
"Marie and I have decided we're coming back together again. The two of us can hardly wait."

Trailers are now being shown in theaters for Martin Lawrence's March 7, 2008 release of College Road Trip. Although Donny is not named on the cast list at imdb.com, he was featured in the trailer which I saw today before Mr. Magorian's Wonder Emporium. We'll keep you posted.
